It is funny – and very interesting – that such a stand is first taken by a country where fur is not only a fashion ornement, but also a strong tool against the northern cold. Needless to say, Oslo Fashion Week next February will most certainly look very different from anything we’ve seen before, as more than 200 fashion leaders in Norway are rallying behind the cause.
The prohibition was initiated by a group called Mote Mot Pels (Fashion Against Fur), who managed to win the support of big names in the industry such as Norwegian Elle, Norwegian Cosmopolitan and designers Leila Hafzi and Thomas Ryan
We are against animal abuse and we think faux-fur looks just as great as anything else, and fully support Norway’s initiative. Way to go Scandies!
